Payhip charges a 5% transaction fee on its Free Forever plan, 2% on Plus at $29 a month and nothing on Pro at $99 a month, and Stripe or PayPal processing of about 2.9% + $0.30 comes on top on every plan. On a $25 sale that is $2.28 on the free plan. Pocketsflow charges 4.7% + $0.30 with processing included, $1.48 on the same sale.

Every Payhip fee in one table

These are Payhip's numbers from its pricing page, read November 6, 2026, and Stripe's standard card rates.

Free Forever$05%
Plus$292%
Pro$99None

Payhip's three plans have the same features. The only difference between Free Forever, Plus and Pro is the trade between the monthly price and the cut of each sale, so picking a Payhip plan is pure fee math.

Which Payhip plan is cheapest at your sales

Plus costs less than Free Forever once you sell about $970 a month, because 3% of that is $29. Pro costs less than Plus above about $3,500 a month, where the 2% saved covers the extra $70. The chart takes the cheapest Payhip plan at each level, for $25 sales to US buyers, and puts Pocketsflow next to it. It uses the same math as the Pocketsflow fee calculator.

Pocketsflow pricing (www.pocketsflow.com/pricing), 4.7% + $0.30. $25 sales to US buyers; Payhip on its cheapest plan at each level.

  • $500 a month: Payhip Free Forever costs $45.50, Pocketsflow $29.50.
  • $1,000 a month: Payhip Plus costs $90, Pocketsflow $59.
  • $2,500 a month: Payhip Plus costs $181.50, Pocketsflow $147.50.
  • $5,000 a month: Payhip Pro costs $304, Pocketsflow $295.
  • $10,000 a month: Payhip Pro costs $509, Pocketsflow $590.

Pocketsflow costs less until Payhip Pro takes over: for $25 sales, Payhip Pro is cheaper above about $5,500 a month, because it charges only processing on top of its $99. Payhip Plus never beats Pocketsflow on a $25 product: 2% plus processing is already more than 4.7% + $0.30 per sale.

Payhip processing fees on top of the plan

Payhip's pricing page says Stripe and PayPal charge their standard rates on every plan. Stripe's standard rate in the US is 2.9% + $0.30 for a domestic card, 1.5% more for a card from another country and 1% more when the currency is converted. The $0.30 hits cheap products hardest: on a $5 product it alone is 6% of the price. Pocketsflow's 4.7% + $0.30 already includes processing, so there is no second fee to add.

Buyers outside the US on Payhip

If half your buyers pay with a card from another country, Payhip Free at $1,000 a month costs $98.50 instead of $91, before any currency conversion. Pocketsflow charges the same 4.7% + $0.30 wherever the buyer is: $59 on the same month.

Payhip tax and payouts: where Payhip is strong

Payhip collects, reports and remits EU and UK VAT on digital products and US and Canadian sales tax for you, on every plan. Pocketsflow does the same as the merchant of record, so tax is not a reason to pick one over the other. Payhip pays sales to your Stripe or PayPal account right after each sale. Pocketsflow holds new sales in a pending balance for a short period that covers refunds and disputes, then pays out daily, weekly, monthly or when you ask.

How to work out your Payhip fees

  1. Take your monthly sales on Payhip and your number of orders.
  2. Multiply sales by your plan's rate: 5% on Free Forever, 2% on Plus, 0% on Pro.
  3. Add the plan price: $0, $29 or $99.
  4. Add 2.9% of sales plus $0.30 per order for Stripe, and 1.5% more on cards from another country.
  5. Or put your price and sales into the fee calculator, which shows Payhip next to Pocketsflow, Gumroad, Stan and Lemon Squeezy.

When Payhip is the better choice

Payhip is a good deal for sellers who make more than about $5,500 a month on $25 products and move to Pro, and for anyone who wants each sale paid out at once. Pocketsflow costs less below that, and on cheap products where the $0.30 processing fee adds up. If you want to switch, our team will move your Payhip store for you, free, on any plan.
