// the formulas

Three lines, no spreadsheet.

The worked examples use the calculator's defaults: $5,000 this month, 10% monthly growth, a $20,000 goal and $49 orders.

  • Compounding growth

    revenue in month m = today × (1 + growth)^m

    Growth stacks on growth. $5,000 a month at 10% is $15,692.14 in month 12 and $49,248.66 in month 24.

  • The goal month

    first month where revenue ≥ goal

    At 10% a month, $5,000 reaches a $20,000 month in month 15. At 5% it takes more than 24 months.

  • After fees

    revenue − (4.7% + $0.30 per sale)

    What you keep on Pocketsflow. Over the next 12 months the example brings in $117,613.56, and $111,365.65 after fees.

On Pocketsflow you pay 4.7% + $0.30 per sale with no monthly fee, and your dashboard tracks real revenue, orders, refunds and MRR, filtered by date, product or plan. See sales analytics or compare plans.

// faq

Common questions.

How do I forecast revenue growth?

Take this month's revenue and multiply it by (1 + your monthly growth rate) once for every month ahead. $5,000 growing 10% a month is $5,000 × 1.1¹² = $15,692.14 in a year.

What monthly growth rate should I use?

Your own recent history is the best guide: compare this month with the same month a quarter or a year ago and take the monthly rate between them. Early products often grow 10% to 20% a month from a small base; few keep that up for two years, so try a lower rate too.

What growth do I need to double revenue in a year?

About 5.95% a month, because 1.0595¹² ≈ 2. Doubling in six months takes about 12.2% a month.

Why does the curve bend upward?

Because each month grows from a bigger base. The same 10% adds $500 in month one and almost $4,500 in month 24. Real growth usually slows as you get bigger, so treat the far end as a ceiling, not a plan.

How are fees counted?

On Pocketsflow you pay 4.7% + $0.30 per sale, card processing included, with no monthly fee. The forecast takes the percentage off every month's revenue and the fixed part once per sale, counting one sale per average order.
