Questions course creators ask.
Do I need a separate course platform?
No. A course is a product type: you build episodes with a video and materials, sell it on a sales page, and students watch in the course player that comes with it. Selling and hosting a course needs no monthly plan.
Can I release lessons week by week?
Yes, on Growth and up. Drip content releases lessons on a schedule, and you can add quizzes and give a certificate when a student finishes.
Can students pay in installments?
Yes, on Growth and up. Payment plans split the price into 2 to 6 payments, 30 days apart, and the student gets the course on the first payment.
Can I sell my courses as a subscription?
Yes. Sell each course for a one-time price, or put your library behind a monthly or yearly subscription. Both run on the same checkout, payouts and audience.
I sell on Kajabi or Podia today. Can I move?
Yes. Bring your email list over as a CSV on any plan and rebuild each course in the course editor. On Volume, our team runs the import of your customers and purchase history with you, free.
What does it cost?
No monthly fee to sell. Each sale carries one transaction cost, 4.7% + $0.30 estimated (about $7.30 on a $149 sale), covering the platform, card processing, sales tax and VAT handling and dispute prevention, itemized on every order. In the worked example on this page, you keep $508.72 more a month than on Gumroad and $52.70 more a month than on Lemon Squeezy. Selling $50,000 or more a month? The Volume plans lower the platform fee to 1% or 0.5%.
Do I need a paid plan for email?
Selling never needs a plan. Email campaigns, automations, reusable templates and open and click analytics are part of the email plans, from $15 a month for 3,000 subscribers and 10,000 emails. Each plan includes three to four emails per subscriber a month, and addresses that bounced or reported spam are skipped automatically. The free plan keeps up to 1,000 subscribers.
