How to Create Pocketsflow Checkout Links With AI

Chain6 min read

Apply it with your AI

You create Pocketsflow checkout links with AI by connecting Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to Pocketsflow's MCP server and asking: "make me a checkout link for my course for jane@example.com with code SPRING20". The AI calls Pocketsflow's create_checkout_session tool and hands you a link on your store subdomain that you can send to the buyer right away.

What Pocketsflow's create_checkout_session tool does

Pocketsflow's create_checkout_session tool creates a hosted checkout link for one product. The product can be a one-time product or a subscription offer. The tool returns a session id and a url on yourstore.pocketsflow.com. The buyer opens the link, pays with the payment methods your account already offers, and Pocketsflow delivers the product.

The tool sits in the Checkout group of Pocketsflow MCP, next to the abandoned checkout tools (3 tools in that group). Under the hood the AI calls the same POST /checkout/sessions endpoint a developer would, so the rules are the same.

The inputs Pocketsflow checkout links take

InputWhat it does
productIdThe product or subscription offer to sell. Required.
customerEmailFills in the buyer's email and attaches it to the order
lockEmailMakes that email read-only so the buyer can't change it
discountCodeA discount code to apply at checkout
successUrl / cancelUrlWhere the buyer goes after paying, or after leaving
clientReferenceId / metadataYour own ids and notes, sent back on webhooks

There is no payment method input. Pocketsflow takes card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and the other methods from your account settings.

How to create a Pocketsflow checkout link with AI, step by step

  1. Create a free Pocketsflow account, pick your store subdomain and publish at least one product.
  2. Add https://www.pocketsflow.com/mcp to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another MCP app as a connector.
  3. Sign in to Pocketsflow and click Allow access. Pocketsflow creates a key named "MCP: <app>" for that app.
  4. Ask: "List my Pocketsflow products." The AI calls list_products and shows each product with its id.
  5. Ask: "Make a checkout link for the Editing course." The AI calls create_checkout_session with that product's id.
  6. Open the link once yourself to check the product, the price and the email, then send it to the buyer.

list_products returns one-time products. For a membership or software plan, ask the AI to list your subscription offers instead; it uses list_subscription_offers and the same checkout tool works with that id.

Prefill the buyer's email on a Pocketsflow checkout

Pocketsflow's customerEmail input fills in the email on the checkout page and inside the payment form. The email is also attached to the order and to the webhook Pocketsflow sends. Add lockEmail when the purchase must match an account, for example a buyer who already signed up in your app.

  • "Create a checkout link for my Lightroom presets for maya@example.com, and lock the email."
  • "A client asked to pay for the coaching package. Make a link with tom@example.com filled in."

Add a discount to a Pocketsflow checkout link

Pocketsflow's discountCode input puts a code on the link, so the buyer doesn't have to type it. The code must exist first. If it doesn't, ask the AI to make it with create_discount, which takes a name, the code, a percent or fixed amount, the products it covers and an optional end date. Discount codes work on every Pocketsflow plan.

  • "Make a 20% code called VIP20 for the Editing course, ending Sunday, then a checkout link for ana@example.com with that code."
  • "Check that SPRING20 is still active, then build a checkout link with it."

What a Pocketsflow checkout costs per sale

Pocketsflow charges nothing to create a checkout link. You pay 4.7% + $0.30 when a buyer pays, as of November 2026, with no monthly fee. Pocketsflow is the merchant of record, so sales tax and VAT are handled for you. The chart shows the fee on one checkout at four common prices.

$99$4.95

A $9 checkout costs $0.72 in fees and a $99 checkout costs $4.95. The full breakdown, with the Volume plans, is on the Pocketsflow pricing page.

When a Pocketsflow checkout link fails

Pocketsflow returns a plain error, and the AI reads it back to you.

  • No subdomain yet: set one in the dashboard first, since the link lives on it.
  • The product is a draft: publish it. Pocketsflow won't make a link that can only fail.
  • Product not found: the id belongs to another account, or to the other mode. A connection made in test mode sees test products only.

Pocketsflow checkout links from code

Pocketsflow gives developers the same checkout through the API and the pocketsflow SDK's checkout.create. Use code when your app opens a checkout for every signup, and the AI when you need one link now. To compare the two paths, read MCP vs API for selling online. To design the page buyers land on, see Pocketsflow checkout pages, and to connect your AI, start at the Pocketsflow MCP page or read what Pocketsflow MCP can do.
