How to Migrate From Gumroad to Pocketsflow, Step by Step (2026)

Chain8 min read

Apply it with your AI

To migrate from Gumroad to Pocketsflow, export your followers CSV from Gumroad, create a Gumroad access token, and connect it in Pocketsflow's importer, which brings over your products, customers and purchase history as drafts and history without emailing anyone. Then upload each product file, publish, and move your memberships last. Pocketsflow's team will also do the whole move for you, free, on any plan.

What moves from Gumroad to Pocketsflow, and what does not

Gumroad has no product CSV, and its API does not share product files, so you upload each file once. Discount codes, affiliates, reviews and your Gumroad page design do not come over either. Recreate the discount codes you still use: on Pocketsflow they work on every plan.

Step 1: Export what you need from Gumroad

  1. Followers: in Gumroad, open your Subscribers dashboard and click Export. The CSV holds each follower's email and the date they started following you.
  2. Sales (optional): on Gumroad's Sales dashboard, export a sales CSV for a date range. It lists your customers and their purchases. You only need it if you would rather not connect a token.
  3. Product files: Gumroad's API does not share files, so download your own files, for example by testing a purchase of each product.

Step 2: Create a Gumroad access token

In Gumroad, go to Settings, then Advanced, and create an application. Give it a name and an icon, and enter http://127.0.0.1 as the Redirect URI, since the token is only for your own account. Click Generate access token and copy it. Pocketsflow uses the token for one read of your products and sales, then drops it: it is never stored or logged.

Step 3: Run the Pocketsflow importer

  1. In Pocketsflow, open Import under Catalog in the sidebar and choose Gumroad.
  2. Paste your access token, and upload the followers CSV.
  3. Review: Pocketsflow matches the columns and flags every row with a problem, such as an invalid email. Fix a column in Column mapping if needed.
  4. Dry run: see what will be created, what is already there and skipped, and what is left out.
  5. Import: it runs in the background, picks up where it stopped if interrupted, and never creates anything twice.
  6. Report: counts per kind of data, the products that still need a file, and a CSV of every row to check.

Each CSV can be up to 10 MB and 50,000 rows. The self-serve importer is part of the Volume plan. On any other plan, including Free, send us your store link and Pocketsflow's team runs the same import for you, free, while you follow every step in your dashboard. On Free, your list holds up to 1,000 subscribers; rows over your plan's limit are listed in the report, not dropped silently.

Step 4: Upload files and publish on Pocketsflow

Open each product marked "file needed", upload its file, check the price and description, and publish. Imported products stay drafts until you do, so nothing goes live by surprise. Then point your link in bio, your website buttons and your pinned posts to your Pocketsflow store.

Step 5: Move Gumroad memberships without losing subscribers

Card details cannot move between platforms, so each member signs up again. The order matters, because of how Gumroad treats membership products:

  1. Create the subscription product on Pocketsflow first. Recurring subscriptions work on every plan; a members area with posts and a community is Pocketsflow's Memberships feature, on the Pro plan.
  2. Unpublish the membership on Gumroad. Gumroad keeps charging existing members and keeps their access, but nobody new can join.
  3. Email your members the new Pocketsflow link and a date to switch.
  4. After that date, delete the Gumroad membership product. Gumroad then cancels every remaining membership, so nobody pays twice.

Step 6: Close Gumroad last

Keep your Gumroad account until your balance is paid out: Gumroad lets you delete an account with an unpaid balance only by forfeiting it. Download your sales and payout CSV reports before you delete it. Gumroad keeps the files of products customers already bought, so past buyers keep access to what they paid for.

What moving to Pocketsflow saves each month

Gumroad charges 10% + $0.50 per direct sale plus card processing of 2.9% + $0.30, and 5% + $0.50 on new sales after $20,000 in a month. Pocketsflow charges 4.7% + $0.30 with processing included. For $25 sales to US buyers, the same math as the fee calculator:

At $1,000 a month, moving saves $102 a month. At $10,000 it saves $1,020, and at $25,000, after Gumroad's discount kicks in, $2,300. Gumroad's Discover marketplace is the one thing you give up: if it brings you buyers you would not reach yourself, weigh that first.
